Welcome and thanks for stopping by our site. My name is Jeff Gettman and I am co-founder of Pittsburgh Paranormal Research. If you are reading this then your curiosity has arose about me; with that said, let me not disappoint you. My first paranormal experiences began at a very young age. I would see an unexplainable shadow in the corner of my bedroom or standing at the foot of my bed. It would appear occasionally over the course of a few years and thereafter, never returned. At first it frightened me, but as time went on, I would notice the shadow and dismiss its existence. From that early experience I have gone through life ignoring and dismissing any possible paranormal occurrences around me; always looked for a logical explanation.
During a discussion with Scott one day, he revealed to me his interest in the paranormal and it ignited into a discussion about starting a paranormal research group. Having had my interest in the paranormal back again, I began to recount the childhood memories of shadows in my room and quickly realized that I had been unknowingly using a defense mechanism in trying to ignore and dismiss that for which I did not understand. My goal was to set out for answers, to help others who are or have been in my shoes. That same day, PPR saw its birth and set forth a quest for knowledge and research.
I am constantly looking to evolve our investigation process by including new technology, experiments, etc. I believe that if you always do the same thing, then you are likely to get the same results. I am also very interested in history and exploring old historic buildings with a dark past. During my free time, I enjoy camping, hiking, kayaking, and most of all, spending time with my family.
